Year 6 students!

The booking window for applying for transition workshops has now ended. If you have booked a place on a workshop email confirmation will be sent to you and your child's primary school reminding you of the date and times of the workshop chosen

 

The Workshops

English with Mrs Chubb

Wednesday 17th May – 1.15-3.00pmWednesday 24th May – 1.15-3.00pm* Number Limit: 30

This is a two part workshop where you will explore the play The Tempest by William Shakespeare. You will write a piece of creative writing and create your own model character from clay, which you can take home.

*This is a two part workshop, so you need to attend both parts. 

Science with Mrs Blagden

Friday 9th June - 1.15-3.00pm. Number Limit: 40

Join Mrs Blagden to take part in some mini experiments on the periodic table.

 

Humanities with Miss Noble and Miss Free

Friday 16th June, 1.15pm-3.00pm. Number Limit: 30

Come and try out a lesson in the Humanities department where History, Geography and Religious Education skills will help you navigate through the Fair Trading Game! 

 

Maths with Mr Blagden

Tuesday 20th June 1.15-3.00pm. Number Limit: 30

Come and try an interactive Maths game called “Teachers’ Chairs” ... its all about trying to stop teachers talking about boring stuff! 

 

Art Workshop with Mrs Morton

Wednesday 21st June 1.15pm-3.00pm. Number Limit: 20

Take part in our Tube Art Project! Your artwork will be placed on permanent display at the Barnfield Campus, ready for you to see when you join us in September! 

 

Physical Education join Mr Gillon - FULL 

Thursday 22nd June 1.15pm-3.00pm. Number Limit: 30

Come and join Mr Gillon for an afternoon of Rounders! We'll have skill activities, challenges and games all based around batting bowling and fielding. The sun will definitely shine!

You will need trainers, socks shorts, t-shirt, and a drink. Also bring lots of energy!

 

Drama Workshop with Mrs Evans

Monday 26th June 1.15pm-3.00pm. Number Limit: 30

Join us for a drama workshop exploring storytelling theatre. Learn how to bring stories to life using props for multiple purposes and even test you skills as a puppeteer.

Students should wear comfortable clothing for ease of movement.

 

Modern Foreign Languages with the Languages team

Wednesday 28th June 1.15pm-3.00pm. Number Limit: 60

Languages Taster Afternoon! Come and try out three different languages in an afternoon. Play games, taste some French cuisine and even make a Creole cocktail! 

 

Technology with Mr Chudley - FULL

Wednesday 5th July – 1.15pm-3.00pm. Number Limit: 30

Experience a technology taster lesson where you will make your own clock, which you get to take home at the end of the lesson!
