Dolce education catering service, provides our students with a wide range of hot and cold, snacks and main meals. Toast and Porridge is available (free of charge, although porridge toppings are chargeable) each day in both campus canteens, from 8:30am. 

Drinks are also available to purchase, although we strongly encourage our students to bring a refillable water bottle them, which can be topped up from any of our drinking water outlets.

Our catering team work hard to ensure the meals are healthy, nutritious and well balanced. They only use quality ingredients which are seasonal and locally sourced (where possible). Sample menus are available at the bottom this page (please note the Italian Kitchen menu, is only available in the Western Road Atrium facility).

We use Cashless Catering to make it easier for you to pay for school meals and to avoid the need for students to bring cash into school. Every student has a Pick and Pay card which can be charged up on-line using ParentPay. The card can be used for paying for food and for purchasing goods from the School libraries.

Free School Meals

You may be eligible for free school meals if your income is below a certain level. If so, we would encourage you to apply, as not only will your child receive a free lunch and support towards extra-curricular trip costs but it also means the school receives additional funding to support your child's education. The 'Pick and Pay' payment card system means that no one will know your child gets free school meals. 

Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:

• Income Support
• income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
• income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
• Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
• Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
• Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)

Children who get paid these benefits directly, instead of through a parent or guardian, can also get free school meals.

It’s not just about free meals -
Students who are registered for free school meals can also get:
• Stationery and other learning materials from our school library for free.
• An allowance of up to £25 per year to support the purchase of uniform or for out of hours transport to attend school activities.
• An allowance of up to £100 per year towards school enrichment activities.'
