SEND Support

At Queen Elizabeth’s School we are committed to offering an inclusive curriculum to ensure the best possible progress for all of our pupils whatever their needs or abilities. All children are of equal value and deserve access to resources and opportunities to develop their full potential. At Queen Elizabeth’s School we work in collaboration with families and external agencies to ensure all pupils are given full opportunity to reach their potential and achieve success.

Our provision is organised under the four areas of need identified in the 2015 SEND Code of Practice.

Our Communication and Interaction team works with students with autism and speech and language needs, supporting them to access all areas of school life. Our MyPlace bases on each campus provide autism-friendly spaces where students can be supported to manage social and sensory needs.

The Cognition and Learning team offers targeted literacy and numeracy interventions designed around the student's individual needs, using strategies and resources. Our short but intensive programmes of intervention provide a boost for students where this presents a specific barrier.

Social, Emotional and Mental Health is supported through our Inclusion Hubs, alongside a range of individual provisions and interventions led by lead practitioners on both SEND and pastoral teams.

Physical and sensory needs are met by a lead practitioner on the team (see our Accessibility Policy below for more information).
