Our Trust of Schools

Who We Are

Queen Elizabeth’s School was founded in 1559. We have been serving our young people and community for over 450 years. Our values are strongly rooted in our school heritage and ambition to be an exceptional community school that prepares our students for their future.

Our mission is to bring knowledge, a sense of belonging and opportunities to young people in Mid-Devon.

Community

Queen Elizabeth’s is a community school, and we are immensely proud of our students, our school and its history. Our talented students and our highly skilled and totally committed staff add so much to our school community.

Our aim is to work in partnership with our community to educate our youngsters to become kind, confident and responsible citizens able to make a positive contribution to our society.

Ambition

We are a successful school. GCSE and A Level outcomes at Queen Elizabeth’s have been strong over many years. Achievement is high and every year our students make better progress than similar students nationally. We also celebrate a broad and diverse curriculum taught by subject enthusiasts that provides all students with academic, creative and practical opportunities.

Kindness

Our extra-curricular activities allow students to explore their interests and develop their character. We are proud of our creative arts provision which includes school theatre productions, music concerts, art exhibitions and dance shows. Our sporting programme enables all students to take part in competitive sport and physical activities in the local landscape. It also produces a number of highly successful elite teams and individuals who achieve regional and national recognition.

We offer the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Ten Tors, a range of watersports and climbing, trips and exchanges in the UK, Europe and across the world. We are a European Parliament Ambassador School and arrange local and national visits along with a diverse range of other activities. We are always looking for new ways in which we can broaden the experience of our students so that school makes memories for them.

By participating in opportunities to develop knowledge, character, contribution and wisdom, students at Queen Elizabeth’s will flourish at school and in their future lives, living up to our historic school motto:
